About

I am interested in investigating issues of human health and disease and medicinal and prophylactic practices in the historical past and in the present. My specific interests include child and adolescent health and the lasting effects of epidemic disease such as disability, as well as issues surrounding immunization. I am particularly interested in topics which combine these areas such as the infectious disease of poliomyelitis.

My dissertation will examine the early 20th-century epidemic emergence of polio in Ontario, Canada.
