About
Sara McGuire is currently a PhD Candidate at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. She graduated with her Master of Arts degree in War Studies from the Royal Military College of Canada in Kingston, Ontario in June of 2009. She completed her MA thesis entitled, “Debating the Terrorist Threat: United States Homeland Security Policy and the American Strategic Culture”. Previously, she completed her Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree in Political Studies at Queen’s University in 2007, where she graduated on the Dean’s Honour List. Sara has presented papers at a number of academic conferences including: the ISSS-ISAC Annual Conference, "Security for the Future", the Northeastern Political Science Association Annual Meeting, and the ISA Annual Convention. She served as the civilian Student Representative for the War Studies Department while at RMC. She has been an elected member of the McMaster Social Science Faculty Committee since 2009. Sara serves as the copy editor for the journal, "Bridges: Conversations in Global Politics". Her research interests are in the area of American and Canadian foreign and defence policy, and international law.
